Well a while ago I posted that my mom and dad were coming to town for Christmas, bad news bears after she told me they were gonna come on the 26th and stay through the beginning of the year she then in turn called me two days ago and stated that this time they just could not make it.  Now my dad has to have surgery on his driver knee again the second time as he fell and hurt it (that man is stubborn as all hell.)  Anyway the money wasn't the problem it was the stay at the hotel problem and the money to pay for additional expenses out here for the stay plus my dad can't be driving right now.  She also stated that the price to come out here and back plus getting a motel would be the same as buying 5 Mini I-Pads. I wan'ted to say thanks for all the prayers but this time just isn't going to happen.  She said maybe spring break but I won't hold my breath and maybe we might have the money to go to them instead.

Sorry to hear that they aren't coming.  I don't ever spend the holidays with my family.  Life is just too crazy there.  Maybe next year.

SO sorry for you. I miss my family at Christmas time as I now spend them in Florida. I am not even going to put up a tree this year. But I am going to be doing my holiday baking so that I can send goodies home to my grown kids. They look forward to that part, and of course I usually include gift cards. I guess Skype will be the closest I get to my family on Christmas, better than not seeing them at all!  Merry Christmas to all!

So true I feel better already just knowing that I am not the only one spending Christmas with my family.  I hope that my mom can skype with me, it kinda sucks because we used to skype once a month and now we only skype on birthdays or holidays.  Maybe that is because we talk and text all the time anyway.  Ya your right maybe next year.  I made her a wonderful hand crafted pillow and I know she is going to love it regardless.

After reading the previous posts, I feel very lucky indeed. I spend every Christmas and Holidays with my whole family.  We love getting together and making memories for the younger ones. My heart goes out to all of those who can't be with their families.  Merry Christmas to all.
