I think the biggest problems with RFID are with security and reliability. It seems these chips can be read and copied from a distance and can easy or accidentally erased. Leaving you with an easily stolen Identity or none at all.

QFT. Everyone else here is citing weird cases where people can be tracked down because of this chip. I find that amazingly improbable since they would be implementing chips, not GPS systems.

Rather, the problem is that if a code can be read, then there is a way for those who are not supposed to read it to gain access to the information. Far worse, the OP suggests that this would remove all physical forms of payment, and could be used to purchase mundane objects. The very obvious problem with this is that the ability to read this information will not esoteric in any way. Rather the reading code will be public?

As for the soundness of the OP, I really doubt what they are saying is founded in any reality.

I have heard about the chip but I haven't heard anything about it being manadatory but do agree that it sounds like the book of revelations in the bible and have had this discussion amongst other friends and truely do not agree with this idea.But if they tried to make us get it then I personally would be an outkast.It may cut down on alot of things but also may bring about alot of chaos.There is always some truth to fiction.

Have you guy's heard about the RFID CHIP that the whole world will soon have to get implanted under their skin.  It will be your identification.  I was reading about it and they say you won't need a wallet or purse anymore because everything about you will be on that chip.  Everything about you.  When you go shopping for groceries or what have you, the only thing you will have to do is have your hand scanned.  All of the world leaders are meeting now, the G20 summit.  The world will do away with all currencies and implement the chip.  They will start implanting people May of this year and everyone must be chipped by 2017.  If you've heard about this PLEASE reply.

dunno bout the whole 2017 deal...there's not nough credible evidence for that ... lol
