I have never heard of it before. I do like date nut bread.

DATE Nut  LOAF CANDY

5 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
1 lb. dates, chopped
4 c. chopped nuts

Mix sugar and milk in large pan. Bring to a boil. Let boil until forms soft ball in cold water or soft ball on candy thermometer. Do not stir (use very low fire). When reaches soft ball take off stove and add 1 pound of dates. Stir and put back on stove and bring to a boil (do not let it burn). Remove and add 4 cups chopped nuts. Stir until creamy. Put in a cold cloth, roll into a loaf. Let stand overnight. Slice.

 :)
