What would you do?

I've never owned a cat so I don't think of myself as a cat person; however, there's a nice little orange and white cat hanging out where I live. 

She's not a typical stray.  She's sweet, friendly and affectionate and she's a smart little bundle of fur.  She was obviously someone's pet until she was abandoned.

I live in an apartment where I'm not allowed to have pets and I'm also not suppose to feed strays.  I've been searching for a home for this little critter because I want someone to feed her and provide a warm place for her this winter.  I put a classified ad in a local paper.  Someone came to get her and took her home.  I thought it was a win, win, win scenario for me, the cat and the new owner.  The new owner lives about 20 miles away.

Today the cat came home.  She managed to escape and decided to come back to me.

What would you do in my situation?

I love cats and have four.  Look in your newspaper and/or phone book for local rescue organizations and no-kill shelters.  They'll find her a loving forever home.
