The context of this thread is "lying".  As such, the observation that xtians lie to themselves by holding blind faith is a contextual example of lying.

That's only because you have an issue with believers and their faith, and cannot let it go.  The Lincoln quote is now quoted in your honor.

That Lincoln quote applies more to those who make religious assertions and do not support them with factual evidence than to those who challenge such empty assertions of circular blind faith.

Your choice of words, "passive-aggressive faux patronizing" is a typical response from you, as well.  It's just not worth the key strokes to actually argue with you - you can't handle not being in control of the conversations, so it just seems to be a good thing to keep you feeling happy and like you are in control.

Discussion does not consist of merely making empty religious declarations and having other religious adherents post knee-jerk agreement to their own blind faith.  Instead, challenges and dissenting viewpoints often characterize such contentious subjects as religion and politics.

At first, (and even more recently), several attempts were made to elicit rational debate/logical rebuttals however, irrational faith-based circular illogic was received in lieu of such debate/discussion.  Apparently, it is you and others of your religious ilk who remains unaware of even the informal structure of debate, burden of proof obligation, logical syllogisms, deduction, inference and other elements of logical debate.  I'm only informally aware of the elements of illogical "debate", (since that's largely a misnomer), to which you cling.

I think it depends. people often say the truth is always best, but that isn't always the case. a person should be told the truth when it benefits them not just to let the guilty party feel better about themselves. For example say you go to a reunion each year and great aunt Betty bakes an apple pie and has each year.Let's say you think the pie is horrendous. Now great aunt Betty is 87 years old are you really going to tell her now that you can't stand her apple pie? No most likely you are going to take a bite, choke it down, smile and say it's just as good as always.Then secretly toss the rest out lol. That to me is an example of when the lie is better than the truth.

You just proved my points.  You are never wrong, to you, and refuse to discuss things logically.  I am very well aware, since taking classes, debating, observing, etc., what and how to do a debate.  Your "attempts" to elicit "rational debate/logical rebuttals" would make perfect sense, if the eliciting was done rationally, logically, tolerant, and open-minded, without the mockery, ridicule, nonsense quotes and pictures, etc.  That's the part you don't seem to either understand or choose to refuse to do.

Your assertion is unsupported by facts.  These are available in the previous posts; none of which "prove" your points however, they were mentioned in support of my contentions regarding informal, (and formal), debate.
