How does this work?

I read on a previous post that once you finish the surveys and get to the silver and gold pages your finished. So do you get credit for that and will you get paid for just doing that or do you actually have to purchase something to get paid. I went thru a couple of the survey's and made it to the silver, gold pages and I still haven't received any credit. I guess I need a better understanding on how this works so there won't be any confusion and I will know exactly what and how I will get paid.
