ive only herd about this on the news i still have no idea what it will do im scarred of my files ><

Whatever it was programmed to do, it was supposed to happen on April 1st, but I'm not hearing anything, except I read a story that "experts" think that it's still dangerous as ever. Who are these experts anyway? Everyone just says "experts say". 
But the truth is, Microsoft has had a security patch out for this thing since last November or so. And since Windows has an "auto-update" feature, the only people infected with the Conficker would be people too lazy to get the patch or any kind of anti-malware software. Or Macs, maybe, if Apple doesn't know how to get rid of it. But, even though I haven't heard anything, does anyone know what the Conficker does? because if it's the kind of thing that messes with your computer rather than stealing information, I might have it on my older computer, since for some reason it shut off the auto-update process a long time ago and I can't get it back up. My Security Center is offline too.
