Why is it?

People judge others before they judge theirselves. Why is this? People deal with ings in differnet ways, have different problems. I just have trouble getting past this. Everyone has faults.

I agree with you 100 percent... We're all human and we all make mistakes.  It's part of learning and growing.

I don't feel like I can control "people" but I can make my own choices and be accountable for what I experience.

I look at it this way...

I choose NOT to judge others and I really don't care whether or not someone decides to judge me.  I think it's an "age" thing.  One of the great things about getting older is...

I no longer sweat the small stuff.
Have a great day!

People judge others before they judge their selves. Why is this? People deal with  things  in different ways, have different problems. I just have trouble getting past this. Everyone has faults.
Most people think that they are doing everything right, and don't notice their mistakes,or believe that they have repented and therefore are forgiven their shortcomings /sins, It is huge to realize you will die someday because you will sin during your life sometime and the payment for sin is death, this fact scares people!!!! Most end up with the holier than thou syndrome....  People seem to forget all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.... Including themselves, I am no better than any, although I am trying to work at this, I fall into Judging people more often than I would like to think, I really like your topic, and thank you for the reminder, we all face similar or the same battles and instead of judging we should lend the helping word or hand because at times we have done or will do something similar or worse!!!!!!        Much obliged

... believe ... repented ... sins ...

I think at times people are lonely and disgusted with they own life so in order to feel better they go around judging people cause it makes them forget how miserable they own life is. Misery loves company is a saying my dad use to always say.

I spend so much time judging myself that I don't have time to pound the gavel on others. I'm my own worst critic and I'll constantly strive to be good enough for myself. I know that other people judge me ESPECIALLY based on my looks/lifestyle, but if I spent my time thinking about the things THEY see wrong with me, I wouldn't have time to enjoy who I am. What other people think of me is none of my business.

Well unfortunately that is becoming the norm.  However, people are constatly saying we shouldn't be judging while America is losing its morals!!  What it really comes down to is this....We are not to judge, however there is soooo many people wanting to push their choices down our throats, accepting their choice while my choice gets taken away saying that I am judging because I don't agree with them.  I absolutely agree that we all make mistakes, but there is still right and wrong.

A sense of right and wrong was very clear when I grew up in the 50's and 60's.
Nowadays, many things, including morals, havebeen compromised.
Those who do wrong things need to be pointed in the right direction.
It is a matter of correct judgment and discernment, not the act of judging others.
Society needs certain proper order. We have lost a lot of that.

Jesus said, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. These days people tend to forget about their own sins while they're throwing all those rocks at others.

People find it easier to cast judgement towards others than cast judgement on themselves.

This entire thread consists of people judging others, (including my contribution).  Though I've never claimed not to judge others, I still find it ironic that those judging others claim not be be judging other people.

it is really how you take it. do you like complements? do you like constructive criticism? those two things are positive forms of judgement. The input is only as strong as the intake.

Even though the post you're agreeing with is 'judgemental', in and of itself? <--that's my judgement, based upon the parameters of the definition of the term being discussed.
