It just depends on your parents and home life. I'm moving out in August and living in a dorm at college just because it's so far away. It wouldn't bother me to live at home to save money though. Most people move out because they are tired of being treated like infants by their parents. Saving money is a good idea just don't become too dependent on your parents.

Google is your friend. You can find me there. Can I find you there?

When I was that age I couldn't wait to get out of the house. My family was driving me crazy and I really wanted my own space and to develop my own identity separately from what I had to be at home. My family fought all the time. My brother has autism and he has a lot of issues that make it very difficult to live a normal life at home. The family was always conforming to his needs rather than the needs of anyone else in the family. I also lived out in the country far away from most things.  That was about 10 years ago for me. I think it a choice everyone has to make. Some people and situations make it more difficult to live with family. In addition I think there is a difference between using your family as a crutch (they make your meals, clean for you, etc..) vs. taking care of yourself in your family home. Doing your own choirs, buying food on your own, transporting yourself to where you need to go all without being asked or expecting special treatment because you did these things. These are all things you should be doing if you want to gain independence while living at home.

I think that now day's more young adult's still live with their parent(s). Living alone does get expensive. I don't see a problem with living with your parent(s), as long as you and your parent(s) agree to the situtuation!

 well times have changed over the years. today a college education is almost a must. i am not saying an education was not an advantage in my generation it just was not as necessary as it is today. i left home as soon as i could. i went to work in sales and worked my way through to management through the college of hard knocks. at twenty-one i opened my own dist. with the company. i learned all my M.B.A. through experience. today if a young person is in college i see nothing wromg with them living at home to save for both them selves and their parents. a college education is expensive enogh with out adding out side living expenses.

I think more and more kids will stay at home longer then before. The economy is the attributing factor for that. It makes good economic sense.

I am lucky that after i divorced i was able to live with my family and 10 years later went back to school and will get a much better job and be able to support myself. That's all I have wanted for years and I finally am doing it, but my family has been there to help me out when i need them and I am very lucky for that.

I think you should always be able to go home when times get tough. With so much going on in this enconomic more kids are staying at home longer then they intended to.
