peppermint oil and coconut oil can be used.
I saw a Facebook post the other day natural oils are replacing paste.
Neem is also good.
I switched.

Thanks for the tips Gerianne.

I sometimes make a paste of baking soda and peroxide, it really whitens your teeth.

Anybody have an idea on homemade dental whitner?  Seems it gets to be more expensive. Plus how about homemade dental glue?

Funny, because I have used peppermint oil and coconut oil, but have never thought about using them as toothpaste. I actually have them in my cupboard in my kitchen. How do you make the toothpaste? Do you know the recipe? I never heard of Neem, but I always love the idea of going natural. Recently, I have gone vegan and I absolutely love it! I feel so much better overall.

The few people I know who have gone vegan seem to be way too skinny so I don't really think it's healthy.

I have never heard of Neem. I have used baking soda and salt as my mother did. I have never had a cavity.

Has anyone ever tried Dr. Bronner's soap to brush their teeth? I've been using it for a few months now and I really like it. I would use baking soda sometimes too but straight baking soda apparently eats away at dental glue and I have 2 permanent retainers.  I have to use it to wash my hands too 'cause regular hand soap can make my hands red and itchy. It lasts a really long time too 'cause you dilute it. I got my bottle in January 2011 and it's still not empty. That's not even their biggest size.

Certainly not healthy, and very toxic to the human body. I still dont understand how come flouride made its way into toothpaste. :dontknow:

Even tea can be used as toothpaste or oral rinse. Choose your favorite flavor.
