What's in our food?
« on: July 03, 2012, 12:38:29 am »
Food that we eat is a toxic soup of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, GMOs, artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, growth hormones, low dose antibiotics, high fructose corn syrup, fillers and a horrible concoction of chemicals all meant to return the properties to  food that has been processed out. Produce is grown in toxic depleted soil with chemicals to force growth, resulting in nutritionally deplete crops. Animals are factory farmed and force fed diets alien to them, tortured their entire lives, then slaughtered in horrific ways, all of which further contaminates adjoining farmland soil. :o Plants and now animals are genetically modified, resulting in unstable DNA that not only mutates across plant generations but mutates our DNA after we eat them AND mutates the DNA of the animals we eat which ALSO mutates our DNA. All of this DNA mutation results in catastrophic diseases. You'll never hear Monsanto admit to THAT one. :angry7:
Disgusting, unethical, and lying big pharmaceuticals want us to be sick, so that they can CURE us to death. I am sick of seeing the ads for different drugs, followed by the "bad drug" lawsuit ads. It's no wonder that the insurance companies go broke, when the evil big pharma companies keep on making profit, at the cost of our health. ::) Will these things ever change for good?

Yes, sometimes :). We need to know what is in our food, to avoid the bad stuff. In reality, nobody out there cares for our health, not the government, or big pharma companies, or the mega food companies that dole out colorful cereals and snacks. If this even gets one person thinking about what is in our food today, then that makes me happy

You should watch a documentary called "forks over knives" it's quite an eye opener on what we eat and what it's doing to our health.

I think I'd rather skip reading the label so I don't get paranoid.  If it tastes good and is healthy fat and calorie wise, I'll eat it...

One of my trainers recently mentioned he was reading "The Omnivore's Dilemma" which sounds right up this alley.  I may check that out sometime, as well as the above mentioned "Forks over Knives".

Reading about this stuff really makes me want to get my garden growing quickly!
