Setting A Regular Schedule While Working At Home
« on: June 07, 2012, 12:12:55 pm »
:notworthy: When working at home aka self-employed, you should set a schedule for yourself so you will not over work yourself. You have to be very careful when working at home because you can get side-tracked by television and family or other non-work related issues.

  • Set a time to work for ex. 8am to 8pm Mon - Fri
  • Set a time to break for a walk to relax your mind
  • Set a time for lunch
  • Decide how much money you need to make a day and reach for that goal without stressing yourself

If there is one thing I've learned over the years a set schedule is imperative not matter where you work.  I ran my own construction business once...as a mother of 3 I burned myself out...and it happened quickly.  I've worked in retail and that too ran me ragged with the always changing hours.  I have found through trial and error and self discipline that indeed a regular schedule is best for anybody to be product in all aspects of there life.  Socially, economically and healthy for that matter.

Yes, this is crucial is you want to earn money with any consistency.  It is one of the biggest downsides to working at home: managing your own time and avoid the temptation of distractions.  However, your suggestion of 8am to 8pm is a bit unrealistic!

agreed that 8 to 8 is a little extreme I would never work 5 days a week for 12 hours each wether i work at home or away. Sadly the paid surveys and such is my distration from my family and not the other way around.

I try to schedule my FC work and my other site. But when school is out and hubby is home it all goes out the window. Thinking i need to get another comuter just for him. But then i proably wouldn't get any work out of him. So it's only for about 3 months. Kids go back to school in mid Aug. Yea.
