I've had a few Greendot cards in the past.  You can get them at Walgreen's, Wal-mart and many other places.  If you need/want a pre-paid debit card they're good.  If you can get credit for getting one through FC that's the way to go.  It works like most pre-paid cards.  It costs $3 - $5 to get the card from a store and you can load any amount you want, up to their maximum, at the time of purchase (at the store).  Then you can re-load them with MoneyPak cards for a fee of $3 - $5.  No interest, no overdraft fees, you can only spend what you put on the card.  If you leave it empty for two months they close it.  If you get one use Wal-mart to load it because they only charge $3 and they waive the re-load fee if you cash a check at the same time.
