It would be nice if some of the unfriendly posts never took place.
It might be equally nice were some superstitious religious "unfriendly" posts never took place however, both fall under the freedom to express their views on a public forum, (especially the off-topic & Debate+Discuss forums), much as some would want to censor what they don't like.
I looked at a thread tonight and saw an individual's posts that criticized the original poster for their beliefs.
That would be me; except that the beliefs of one specific poster were not being criticized individually, but generally, (e.g., concerning the general ineffectiveness of such evocative wishcraft rituals known as "prayer").
I was some what surprised since the original poster was asking for prayers. If someone thinks prayers are worthless, then why enter the thread and post rude comments?
Your comprehension skills become doubtful when you omit the expression that 'no storm lasts forever' and that current tough times will pass, (offered in lieu of 'prayer'). It never occurs to such persons as yourself that anyone can believe whatever nonsense they like however, by posting it in a public forum, they tacitly open such beliefs to dissenting views, (that is, there's nothing that says nonsensical beliefs get a 'free ride' when publically-posted). Characterizing dissenting viewpoints as "rude" indicates a subjectively-biased opinion, (not one based upon accuracy).
Let the person believe what they want. The odds of changing some one's mind in a FC forum is as likely as convincing a square that it should become a circle- not happening.
Well, such a declaration of closed-mindedness just means that reasoning doesn't affect the declarer's beliefs, (and tacitly admits irrationality by making that overt declaration).
Once again, rather than complaining about dissenting points of view, (and tacitly wishing that they'd be censored), the simplest course of action is to use the "ignore" function to spare any 'delicate sensibilities'.
