Life after 50+
« on: April 13, 2012, 03:57:25 pm »
Even before the ripe age of 50 we should always stay in good physical shape, because it is very east to hurt yourself even when exercising
always good to walk each day in the morning and even after dinner.

I'm there.  I'll be 52 in June and I've never felt better or been happier in my life.  Yes...health is important but I also feel that being financially secure and having healthy relationships is important.

I like being older and feeling that I have something to offer because I've been around the block a few times.

Have a great day!

I need to get back in shape after just getting out of the hospital.  However, I still wear the same size I did when I was in high school!

As in any period of our lives, there are the good and not-so-good - things to be enjoyed and things that disappoint and hurt us.  Getting older is not so bad.  As another saying goes - it beats the alternative.

I turned 50 this past January and although my health is not good, I have never felt better emotional, and mentally. I am in a secure long term relationship, my husband and I are finically secure allowing me to be a stay at home mom with our boys,we have no money problems, our house is paid for, college savings for the boys, retirement fund, and secure investments.  None of this was possabile when I was in my 20's or even my 30"s. So yes, growing older has been good to me and baby the best is yet to come.

I turn 58 this July.  I don't feel "old" per se, but I do feel as if I've been around awhile.  I have a few more aches and pains now than I used to, but I feel so much better about so many things.  I've a better idea about what really matters to me now than I did 15-20 years ago.  I find that I'm better able to reach back behind me for what I've learned from my past, but I can also reach out in front for all that I haven't learned yet.  I CAN still learn.  I DON'T have to throw a coat of shellac on who or what I am and stay stuck there.

You know what?  This isn't a bad place to be.  At all

In my humble opinion, age is a state of mind. I'm 55, I take Tai Chi and Martial arts, love to dance, love living. Keeping busy, enjoying what you do helps keep those little aches and pains at bay. Experience makes you more confident and feel a little better about your choices. Live each day to your fullest and you won't notice the years go by.
