Fried Okra, which was always a common food for me but oftentimes when I mention it people look at me like I am crazy and ask "what is that".  A simple different, but good, is a can of pork and beans mixed with a can of tuna...surprisingly good and if you are shaking your head I insist you try it first.  Hush puppies with extra jalapenos and onions in the mix...can't resist these critters.  Well these are not so 'different' but possibly overlooked and nothing difficult to prepare or find.

I never know what to cook just for one person.  For that reason I go out to eat too often.  I've been trying to eat more raw veggies but even then I don't know what to buy.  I did try some mini red and yellow peppers that are pretty good.
