I know businesses have to watch for shoplifters and I have been watched. Sometimes I like to look around a lot and a few months ago I was trying to pick out a pair of shoes and couldn't make up my mind. I realized I was being watched so I made a little game out of it just to make sure. After I got my shoes, I went to the greeting cards and here he came, then to make-up and there he was again. He must have been new and didn't know I worked there.

Creepy, I've had that happen before I know what you mean. Sometimes I get a little paranoid and look behind me for awhile to see if they are still looking. OOOh, I really don't like that. Why do people stare like that at strangers? Gross.

Oh yeah. well i've talked to my local authorities and they tell me that even police officers, security guards, and owners are subject to pyshological evalutations too and they're not above questioning too. So, these folks are just as potentially dangerous as the neighborhood stalker, thief, serial killer, and so on  .

I would have assumed that most people would know just from watching tv or maybe a movie or too...or even "America's Most Wanted" that crooked cops/security guards/business owners exist.  I never would have guessed that someone would actually have to talk to the local authorities to learn that, my bad. (Something they must of forgot to mention: extensive background checks are done on people wishing to join the police force and on security officers depending on the business' request.  It doesn't eliminate all the "bad guys" but it helps.)  People are watching people all the time, if it bothers someone that much---perhaps they'd feel safer just staying in their house (with their tv's/computers draped and their curtains pulled of course!)

Yes and it is an eerie feeling for sure, but on the other hand I have to admit that I love watching other peoples manners and actions, so I may just be creeping someone out, hmmm, never really thought much about it until now.

With all the satelites, cameras, and homeland security paranoia you can't help getting the feeling that you are being watched because you are.  The real question becomes how much attention is too much?

Every time I walk during the night I would look backward like someone's watching me...even if nobody's behind me. It's for safely reasons. act like someone's watching you at night and it keeps you alert and not make dumb decisions like walking through a dark alley alone...
