Unusual Task Disqualification?
« on: October 29, 2011, 10:38:07 am »
Hi - just wondering if anyone else is trying to work the human tasks today and is being disqualified after the first panel?  I've worked these a lot (one of my main money makers), but today after trying to work different tasks here and on another site using a different vendor providing the tasks - they all are disqualifying after submitting the first panel.  I've worked these tasks successfully in the past and know I was submitting valid information, so I'm a bit confused.

Wondering if others are experiencing the same thing - if so, I'll assume it's a temporary glitch with their system and come back later to see if it's been fixed.  I already submitted a feedback request to them via their form wondering if there's some global glitch causing this - but I figured I'd check here to see if others were experiencing this too...that it's not just me.

Also, if others are experiencing it (and particularly if you are new), this behavior is very unusual.  So my advice would be to work some surveys today and check to see if the tasks are functioning normal again tomorrow.  Typically if you submit information the system thinks is invalid, you get a screen indicating which test answers didn't match with their key before you continue in "training mode" or are then "disqualified" - today I'm not getting that explanation screen indicating which answers didn't match their key.

Just an FYI to everyone - I heard back from my feedback inquiry on the unusual task disqualification, and it seems as if several tasks are disqualifying people for working the task "too quickly" - the team knows it's a bug and shouldn't be disqualifying people on the first panel and are looking into it.

The issue doesn't seem to be impacting everyone, but given how slowly the tasks are being completed compared to their usual rate, the issue does seem to be impacting a substantial portion of their usual workers.

If you've tried to work the "Human Tasks" this weekend or this week and have been disqualified after the first panel, and you are fairly certain to executed it correctly, I suggest to send a feedback note to the team and note the date/time you worked your task and approximately how long it took you to work that first panel.  Maybe by providing this type of information to their team, they'll be able to track down and correct the bug quickly.

I'm sure they'll track down and fix the issue fairly quickly - so if you are one being impacted by this issue (like me), just be patient.  If you are not impacted - lucky you!   :D

I'll post another update if/when I hear the bug has been fixed.

It seems that there is a great deal of things that are not working properly on this site, disappointing. Reaction is slow to nil and or only spin, "we don't get paid if you  don't get paid." Pathetic- one would think the operators would be most interested in ALL being paid.  BAH

Thanks for posting your question and what you found out.  As a newbie, I seem to have a lot of issues and the too fast on one was frustrating.  I was giving it my all and then for naught!  Atleast now, I will consider trying again sometime when I have time!  A couple made me wonder if I had a clue about anything! LOL  Was probably mostly the glitches. . . or at least we will let me believe that!! LOL

Honestly if you don't know what you are talking about perhaps you should sit it out. The tasks are not hosted by fusioncash and therefore are not under their control. Further more those that are capable of making money on this site (as from your statement clearly indicates you are unable to do) know that fusioncash in fact doesn't make money unless you correctly preform the actions indicated for each offer. If you do them correctly everyone wins. If you do not know how to complete offers try reading the offer crediting thread here: http://www.fusioncash.net/forum.php?topic=7042.0

I know it's been a while, but I finally got this issue resolved.  Not sure if it'll be a moot point for us on FC unless Gambit starts running tasks again, or FC contracts with someone else who provides the Crowdflower/Delores Labs task..but for anyone that was impacted by this and works other GPT sites that run the tasks, he's what was discovered.

Recap - the issue was after working the first page of a task, when submitted, received an immediate disqualification message that simply said my submission was denied due to poor quality work.  There was no page that indicated which item was in error.  Very unusual for those who've worked these (typically you get a page that flags the incorrect answer before one would potentially be disqualified).

Apparently Crowdflower was experiencing a higher than usual volume of spammers - people who would work the tasks and put junk in the answers to get paid (have no idea why people would do such a thing).  To clean up their task results, and save their clients from paying money for bogus results, they did a massive IP ban on worker IDs with a high volume of submissions.  Since I tend to work a lot of tasks (on this site as well as others), my IP was picked up by mistake in this sweep.

So, if you were someone who worked a lot of tasks from Crowdflower/Delores Labs (Mechanical Turk) - I suggest trying another task, and after you get the immediate disqualification page - submit feedback and request whomever works your feedback to check if your IP was inappropriately banned.  Explain you heard about an IP ban done a couple months back to clean up spamming and you wanted to make sure your IP wasn't accidentally included.  That may be the fastest way to get them to check and fix the problem.

I already tested by working a task on Mechanical Turk today and was able to successfully submit the task - first time in about 2 months.

Hope this information helps anyone else who encountered this issue.  May not help here at the moment (since there are no tasks running), but if you work those tasks elsewhere, maybe this will get you working them again.
