BUTIs it against the rules if I put my link in a newspaper,e.g., the classifieds or community section?

I don't think so.

But I suspect that you might not make enough referrals to compensate for ad costs, based on what, where and how you are advertising it in the newspaper.

Let us know how much your investment/payout ratio is if you decide to do go that route.

No I don't think so...but you'd have to do some research so oyu can make sure you turn a profit. For example:

What your newspaper charges for such an ad
The circulation of said newspaper
How much is possible to gain out of this
And other stuff

In my opinion, I don't think it would get you as many results as you'd think. Especially if you are talking about a tangible news paper (as in a real paper). The people don't have a link to click on, so they won't bother going to there computer.
