Why don't people read thru topics before creating new ones
« on: November 20, 2011, 05:07:10 am »
I'm wondering why don't people read through the forum topics/posts before they create a new one that is EXACTLY the same. I can't believe the number of topics started about what offers have credited.....
It's a lot easier to look for helpful information in the topics and posts if the posts are made together with others posts.

Okay, now I'm :-X !!  Just had to get that off my chest...it's just been starting to bug me more and more...( :-[ sorry!)

Well, President Obama seems to think we are a nation of lazy people, so I guess that is your answer.

OMGoodness samrhett2, that is both really funny and really not funny at the same time.
It made me laugh because it was such a simple, direct and to the point answer.
But then if that really IS my answer...isn't that pretty pathetic?  ???

I just realized....we have no smileys to depict laughing. Like a "rofl" (rolling on floor laughing) smiley or a "lmao" (laughing my a_ _ off) smiley. We should have one or two of these to use....

The real answer is, too many people are here just to make the 30 posts and get off. They are missing out on one of the most enjoyable benefits in being a member here, the community itself.

So now the answer I've got is this: "We are a nation of lazy AND greedy or money-hungry people"??
Yikes...we're not looking better as this progresses, are we?

I agaree that newbies don't seem to take the time to skim thru the posts, but if they did, then us experienced folks wouldn't have so may new posts to respond too.

However, even tho we have search function, I don't find it to be all that useful.  I enter my name or a topic to try to find something that I've seen before and I rarely can find it. (I often find threads that are interesting, however.)

If you try to skim through the recent topics you won't always find entries that match what you're looking for.  So I sympathize with the newbies trying to find threads that match their question.

Much easier to just start a new thread that it totally applicable to them and hope for the best.  The real trick for them is to find the thread they started so they can see the responses.  (I end up looking at my listing of posts to find the thread I posted on.)

I thought about that, but was concerned about the inundation of email notices.  Will check it out, thanks.

That's why I have a separate Gmail account just for Fusioncash and I welcome those notices so I can stay connected. I don't count them, but even as active as I am, there are only a dozen or so a day and responding to them takes just minutes. The email has a link that brings you directly to the point where you can quickly read the comment, respond if you want to, or close it and be right back to your email so you can delete it and read the next one. If you need a vacation, just filter them into the delete function for a while, then restart it when you are ready.

I try to keep my comments centered on posts that fit my agenda, but if you do start getting too many emails from a trivial topic, the email notice also has a link you can click to take yourself OFF the list of that particular thread.
