Kindle Fire
« on: November 19, 2011, 08:41:52 am »
I have never had anything fancy - just a plain old cellphone with no internet, but do have computers.  I ordered the kindle fire and got it yesterday.  I am getting frustrated even getting started.  The keys are so sensitive and I haven't figured out how to clear a misskey.  I have screwed up entering my password and have to figure out how to fix that.

Anybody have a kindle or the new one?  Do you love it?  Have you found a site to get free books?

I have  a ton of paper books at home and don't want to pay for ones for the kindle.

I have the $139 black and white Kindle and there are lots of books on Amazon. I also use ot to read all the Internet Marketing PDF books I get by transferring them onto the Kindle with a USB cable.

My brother just got one and likes it.  I did read a review saying that the touch input isn't as sensitive as it should be.

I use to have a Kindle (the original), but I gave this up years ago due to lack of use. The functionality was pretty user friendly. I am interested in the Kindle Fire, but I am also interested in many other tablet makers. The main thing that is dissuading me is the lack of a SD or microSD connection to expand the space on the device. I don't want to rely on a cloud.

:'( Sorry, wish I could help. The only things I use are my as basic as possible cells phone and my computer. Not savvy at all on all that stuff.

I also prefer reading an actual book/magazine. I like the touch and feel of an actual publication and turning the pages.

Best of luck   :dontknow:  :fish:

I am very interested in the Kindle Fire however I need to do some more research to see if I would use the extra features that the Fire has or if I I would be just as happy with a more basic unit.

I was wondering if the Kindle could be used for PDF ebooks, or was it just for regular ebooks you get through Amazon. Thanks for the clarification. I think i will try to get one free by earning money online for it.

I got mine "free" with the amazon gift cards I have earned.

I have gotten so far as to get it connected to the wireless network.  That was an accomplishment for me.
