What do you do when.....
« on: August 11, 2011, 06:32:02 am »
what do you do when someone you are talking with has a different and very strong opinion then yours?

this happened to me yesterday the person I was talking with wanted to close down our local nuclear power plant. Since his feelings were so strong I did not want to even discuss it for fear that I would say something wrong even though I might have partly agreed with him.instead I indicated that I didn't have a feelings on the subject. He told me I should care and I said no matter where you live there always going to be dangers both natural and otherwise. HE accepted the answer and left.
What would you do?
Thanks  :peace:

I would express my strongest benefit for my opposing opinion and let it go.

I would state my opinion and make sure I supported it with the reasons. There are always going to be differing views, and sometimes they are unavoidable. I am not one for confrontation at all, even disagreements like this, but I still think you should argue your side.

You could always use the line that you are going to just have to agree to disagree and drop it.
Sometimes it's just not worth arguing with someone that is so passionate about their particular issue.
