Did or do your parents embarrass you?

When I was younger there were things that my parents did or had that would make me feel embarrassed. Examples include old cars, bad clothes, stories, etc.

My dad did. Would go out of his way to do it. He showed up at my school in a wig, at an airport to pick me and mom up with my name on his shirt, when he was a cop he'd come to the playground at my school while we were out and say things over the PA. Then there was burping and farting in public, etc...I could go on.

it wasnt so much my mom but my grandparents. and since i was raised by them, some things was a little embarrassing especially when puberty hit smh

When I was a teen, my parents did embarass me.  It was mostly the old junk car that we drove around in, my mother the way she dressed.  Now that I am an adult, I realize that we didn't have a lot of money and that is why they did the things they did.

As an adult, I am sure that I embarass my kids usually by calling them by there nickname when we are out.

My dad still calls me by my childhood nickname that he gave to me... When I was really young, I always had my parents read me my Little Bear books (written by Else Holmelund Minarik). That coupled with me liking the honey that came out of the bear jugs as well as me liking Winnie the Pooh, my dad had dubbed me his "Young Animal Bear". But even now, after taking me out to lunch (for example), when he's going to leave he'll give me a hug and say something like "It was nice to see you again, Sweet Bear" 

When we were younger, they'd embarrass my sister and I by screaming their lungs out while cheering for us when we'd play sports... My dad was the most embarrassing because he would sometimes would sneer at the refs for making bad calls etc. He also would sometimes bottle up some idea that had been bugging him and it'd slowwly leak out in the form of him rubbing his hands together and him mumbling small snipets of his thought pattern under his breath ("Vikings.... grrr... Bret Favre... can't catch... grr...") and like my example shows, it was sometimes something that most people wouldn't have gotten so worked up over...

Unfortunately with all their foibles, I'll probably end up doing the same thing... After all, the nut doesn't fall far from the tree.

Yes they did, but I sure do miss those day , my dad would make up joke's around me and my friends.

That is so funny! he abused his power just to humiliate you, that is love!
