Have you or any one you know won any substantial prize from contests or sweepstakes?

My husband says I waste my time entering contests and sweepstakes because no one really wins most of them.  So, out of curiosity and hopefully to prove him wrong, please post your response.

The biggest prize I have ever won was a Mountain Dew promotion.  I won a year's supply of Mt. Dew (52 free 12/pk) and a replica of the gold belt won by the world video game champion player.  I received a 1099 for $750 total value.  (I don't even drink Mt. Dew.)  I also won an autographed baseball bat by Mark McGuire by guessing how many home runs he would hit to break the record.  I was offered $200 for it when I received it.  Should have sold it.  He didn't hold the record very long.
