I heard that for newer cars you don't even have to change the oil until it reaches 10,000 miles.

I know that the recommended service interval for many hybrid models is 10,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.  This high interval is due to the fact that the internal combustion engine isn't used as much as it is in regular cars, due to them also having an electric powertrain.

And the guys at the dealership are in the back room laughing about how they reeled in another fish.

I am usually late on oil changes. I let my car run a couple more hundred miles before I bring it in for an oil change. I was punctual before.

Its always good to chang your oil and filter every 3000 miles.  I do my own work on my car its cheeper and I know how to do it.  I just bought a used car and have not had a chance to do a tune up but I will get to it.  The person I bought it from just had it done and my brother did it for her so I know it was done and I don't have to worry about it right now.

I try to do it every 3000 miles but I am often late.  I periodically check it, and if it is really burning it then I make sure to change on time.  I like to do it myself, since it is way cheaper and a cool experience.

Lewis River Motors offers oil change in my town for $20 and I got a Fram oil filter and 5 quarts of oil for $25. Maybe, you can get a oil change for a few bucks cheaper from a local dealership. I rather do my own oil change because it usually easy to do anyways. Oil Can Henry from my town offers oil change for nearly $50. I don't plan to do any business with them especially for oil change.
