While the ranking is related to your post count, we try not to emphasize it too much, which is why you don't see a progress bar or encouragement to "level up".

The reason is that when people compete to increase their post count, they tend to post a lot in a short amount of time.  And that means less thought and energy goes into each post.  Our goal is to have this forum contain useful information and interesting posts, and rewarding members for posting "x" number of posts runs contrary to this goal.

its great to help another member with your answers. even if they dont need it now they can always go back and review the post for knowledge.
