Who is Paying to Get Referrals?
« on: May 21, 2011, 07:50:54 am »
The reason I ask this - I belong to another site - Microworkers - where people pay to have other people do "tasks" - the pay ranges from .10 to a couple bucks per task.  For example, someone could put in 30.00 for 100 people to do the same task and each person gets .30 in their microworkers account for completing the task.  I've noticed people offering those who do the tasks anywhere from .30 - .45 cents for registering at fusion cash following the link they provide - which I assume is the referral link.  So to those doing this - have you had much success in getting legitimate referrals that are paying off this way?  Is it worth the money you are paying out?

I'm not a member of Microworkers, but the concept that you mentioned is similar to Guaranteed sign-ups that are present on most PTC sites.  Whether the GSU is successful in getting new referrals depends on a lot of things -- not the least of which is the amount of the incentive to join.

I've been using GSU for years and generally have not had good luck with them.  Too many people apply for the incentive and never follow through on the sign-up (they are denied so it doesn't cost me anything except time and effort).  Occasionally it works but referrals don't tend to stick around much on Bux or PTC sites since the sites themselves aren't long lived.

I have used GSU's and signed up for sites to receive the incentive.  Occasionally, I found a site that worked well and continued with it, but too often I was disappointed in the site and let it drop - after I got the incentive.

I know what you mean - I signed up for two sites - got the incentive - but haven't done anything with them.  Must be desperate for sign ups or referrals at some of those places!  I probably would have stuck with fusion cash had I signed up that way but I am glad I signed up individually and not through a referral.
