GOVERNMENT V BUSINESS

How many of us believe government is our answer? Or business leaders?
In September 1900  when the tital wave came at Galveston out of the Gulf of Mexico
that killed 1 out of ever six persons the municipal government sank into confusion
while the business leaders stepped in with a new charter that replaced the mayor and
rebuilt the city.
What about Katrina in New Orleans in 2005? Portions of the City are still living in a 3rd world
condition. It was left to government...

Business leaders see the problem  and find  a solution. The government  knows the problem  but makes it worse and  creates more problems.   If the government would listen to the people; I think the  country  will get back on track.  If  " The Donald"  or another  business person  would run for President,  I would vote for him/her.  I am tired of those clowns in DC

Both the government and big business have problems, and most of the problems in washington are because the politicions refuse to listen to those who voted them in. And big business pays politicions to not listen to the public. So if there is a solution your guess is as good as mine.

This is an interesting conversation. I myself feel people in general work for the greater without government red tape getting involved but you always have some people who fall through the quacks when something horrible happens. I guess that is when the government should get involved so these people do not make a mole hill out to be a mountain

Here's a thought to add to this one. How much power does Government have, really? We the people vote them in, for those of us that vote. Those that don't vote, have no complaint. Sometimes, I think people think that once the vote is done, that we're stuck with the people in power. But this would be incorrect thinking. The government is supposed to be by the people, for the people, and of the people. I would imagine that means PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER, not the Government. If we're not happy with the way the government works, then we the people ought to do something about it. There are many activist groups out there. Find one, join one, participate in one.

Organize campaigns, go marching on the grounds. There is power in numbers. Someone help me out here, because I do not watch the news. But which world leader was evicted from office recently, because the country rioted, and told him he had until Friday to resign? Anyone know?

Don't we as Americans have the same power? If we don't like the way government operates, do something about it. They are representing US. The battle doesn't stop just because the vote ended.
