FAITH VS SCIENCE
« on: October 09, 2010, 02:04:30 pm »
If you were given only 2 choices to pick between following faith or following science. Which would you choose?

I believe there is a higher power out there but I'd rather put my trust in Science to get me through the day.

What is your choice? Remember one or the other, there is no in between.

Faith.  It is the one thing that science doesn't have a clue about.  Science is nothing but another way that they are stealing more money away from taxpayers plain and simple!!  Some of the crap they do in the name of science is bull &*^% and most people know it.  At least I know with faith I will be better off.  My faith in God is what has brought me this far in life.  Without it nothing would work.  My opinion so those of you who don't like my opinion blast away b/c I know you will so I don't care!!  We each have our own opinions and I can respect yours no problem.

Honestly, I don't think there is a separation between the two-they are compatible....in fact, what do you mean by: "if we had to choose one"-does
that mean there's no science at all (if we choose faith) or no faith (if we choose science)? The real answer is that science provides facts and faith guides,
they have different roles....check out the Biologos Foundation (google it).....to answer your question though-id follow faith....good question, thanks for asking :)

I agree that the two are compatible.  You do not have to make a choice.  A thinking person can have faith and still study science.  However, with the number of times that scientists have changed their minds about one thing and another, one wonders why some people choose to believe everything they are told about science.  I believe a higher power has given us the capability to learn and do all sorts of things.

I said one or other. Faith or Science what is your choice? Please follow the rules. As for those who chose Faith, okay, try to get through life without the computer in which you are expressing you opinions on now. Since you chose faith, you have no right to, get medical attention, eat food that have been tested by the FDA, use public facilities, drive your car, switch on the light switch, talk on your cell phone. etc,etc,etc....So, if you can survive on Faith without the aid of any Science then I'll change my choice. Right now, I'm sticking with science. Oh ya, those of you who claim that faith got you through your difficult time in your life, it wasn't faith that got through it.... It was you, & you alone!!!! So, why don't you give yourself some credit?

Sorry, dear lady, but you don't get to make the rules.  You may think you do, but Faith and Science have been here long  before we were here and will be here long after we are gone.

Okay - I'll give it to you, you can make the rules of your post.  You just don't get to make the rules of life - either faith or science.

I will say again that I believe faith and science are not mutually exclusive, but my faith in God is the most important part of my life.  So, now, I did choose.  :)
