Does this sentence make sense?
« on: November 22, 2010, 01:28:39 pm »
We spend a lot of our time working – sure, to pay the bills, but also to buy the material items that we desire – don’t let the life you’ve worked so hard for go up in smoke without setting yourself up for compensation.

^ part of my conclusion for my persuasive speech on home inventory.  Thanks for your input!

It appears to make clear sense. Though I don't know what all lead up to this concluding sentence, so I couldn't tell you how well it fits with the rest of the text, but sounds good to me I reckon. Good luck with you speech! :)

Makes sense, and appears grammatically correct.  (I am "good at grammar").

It's a run-on sentence. Try this way:

We spend a lot of our time working to pay the bills, but also to buy the material items that we desire. Don’t let the life you’ve worked so hard for go up in smoke without setting yourself up for compensation.
