Anyone here watching "The Event"? Mondays on NBC?

I have tried to get into this show and have not missed an episode but it just isnt clicking yet........what do  you think?  If you have an opinion on this show let me know what you think.


To me it seems that they are trying to have a combonation of the shows "24" and "Lost" but I just want to see what other people think.

I tried watching last night, but I think I need to watch the episodes I missed to know what's going on. It kinda reminds me of "Lost ", if you miss an episode you're lost

I thought The Event was going to be about aliens and it is in a way.  The show, I think, is also about how the government hides information from the public thinking we are too retarded to handle something like visitors from afar.  And yes, if you miss an episode you do have to catch up like "Lost" (which I loved).  I am hoping there will be a little more meat to the story line though.  There is some suspense and I am eager for the next episode, but... if I miss it I don't get too upset like I did with "24" and "Lost".  I need more from this show!  My question is why this story line with the aliens have come up at this particular time, just as did "V". Do you think it has anything to do with the rash of UFO sitings all over the world and the fact that other countries have admitted that we are being visited and the US has not?  Care to speculate?

I watched the first 2 weeks and couldn't get into it..there was just too much going on...but I didn't like lost or 24 either.

Haven't watched it... yet.  My wife watches Dancing with the Stars when this is on, and I just can't be bothered to watch it on a much smaller TV in another room. 

If the show gets renewed for next year, I might consider viewing it on DVD over the summer.  But, based on the ratings, it doesn't look promising it will get a second season.
