Columbus Day is today!

We celebrate so many holidays but I wonder.... Should there be a Columbus Day? Why should we celebrate this when in reality....When Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, death & destruction followed. Let's see, the Indians lost their land, their religion, their culture, & there lives. The white man's superior weapons weren't the only thing that killed the natives. The white man brought small pox & other viruses to the natives. Now a days, we call that biological war fare. So, why are we celebrating Columbus day again?

What, you get school off on that day? When I was in school, I don't recall getting Columbus day off!!!!No fair!!!!
