HDMI to RCA

Looks like this conversion won't work.  I need a cable (they are all over Amazon) to hook my RCA Direct TV Standard Receiver up to my HDMI/VGA 23" Computer Monitor....I bought the monitor back in April and can't return it and don't want to waste money on a TV........any suggestions?

The reviews are 1 out of 5 stars.  Even though I am an IT person, it'd be nice to know if it'd work or not.  I also have contacted the seller and he said he'll give me a full refund (including S/H) if it doesn't work.
