That proves how sad the world is...that we, as women, must consider inserting a defensive condom before walking out of the house.  There should be no reason for this.  It makes me sick that such an invention need to exist.

Carry pepper spray and one of them tasers...always stay in groups, never leave a drink unattended...park close to the entrance and in well lit areas.

Have you heard of those self-defense whistles?  They're bad a**.

Maybe if they start castrating rapists that are found guilty...then again, the punishment isn't always a reliable deterrent for the crime...

It actually sounds more humane than the medieval chastity belts. Those belts had metal teeth that would break the skin (not to mention his unit).

I thought this was interesting, found it in another article about the condom and doctor:

I'm sure the next time I have a Diet Coke, I'll automatically think of this. I hate to say it, but I can foresee some chick who really wants to get back at a guy using one of these, tempting him into the bedroom, and then crying "RAPE!" Sorry, but I know there are enough nutjobs out there who would think nothing of doing something like this.
Have you seen what this thing looks like? I just hope there is no way it can somehow open on it's own while inserted! Can you say 'HUGE lawsuit'....

Yes, while it is sad that there has to be something invented to help prevent women from being raped, I think it's a great one! The article says it doesn't cause any serious damage, but will leave some sort of scars to remind the guy of what he did. The only think I'm confused about is one line:

"It can only be removed by medical professionals"

So does that mean the two people would be "stuck" together until a medical professional comes along to remove the guy? That seems rather strange to me, but I suppose would help with prosecution the guy as well.

Wow!  I agree with you guys that say it's sad that the world has come to this, but maybe it'll make guys think twice before raping someone.  This is a really good idea!

Oh man I saw a movie that a woman knew she was going to be raped and she did the same thing, but she used a nail or something like, I can't really recall. But I was just waiting for someone to come up with an idea like that. It's a good idea, but there is always a down fall. Other females may use it against guys but I rather focus on the good side of it than the bad side.

This is probably the best invention since FusionCash. Rapist/liars/cheaters/murderers/thives make me sick. Some times I think the world would be a better place if we all just took the time to think about what could happen if we do something.
