Your thoughts on what's happening at 911 site...

 When I heard about this, I couldn't help wondering what is WRONG with our government--- this feels like a "slap in the face" after what those who lost loved ones in the 911 attack have been through, and to those who've felt their pain.  How sad, how shameful and what an embarrassment to this country.  (I wonder if terrorist planes crashed into the White House and wiped out the President and most everyone else inside...would the government give permission to build a mosque on the former White House grounds as well?)  What are YOUR thoughts on this??     http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=119328

There isn't much that can be done to change someone's opinion on this, but I will say one thing.  People are forgetting that it wasn't all Muslims that were behind the 9/11 attacks, but a whack job named Osama Bin Laden and his followers.  Just like it isn't all Christians that are protesting synagogues, American Idol, and soldiers funerals but a whack job named Fred Phelps and his followers. 

If we, as a nation, can do something to promote tolerance, why wouldn't we?

   I agree with you both that it should not be there for the same reasons you listed.  It just seems like more and more of that type is going on here in America and there seems to be more of a tolerance for it.  I have a hard time understanding how people cannot see the whole overall picture. I also feel frustrated and helpless when I take part in putting my two cents worth in (as many do) and yet our voices are ignored by the certain higher up people who have their own agenda with where America seems to be heading.

    I cannot believe that City Officials of New York had the GULL  to even place in a vote for such a plan. That is just a plain out slap in the face, to the ones who died there. Yes! There is a Memorial Site right there for the ones who your murdered by those %*#@!Y^& ies.    Oh Ya,! Lets give those who killed, a kind of reminder of what happened! I felt sorry for the ones who lost their love ones. I cry all day just thinking about it. How to you tell your little ones mom or dad not ever coming home again?

Can you possibly imagine of you had lost a loved one that day at the site?    How would it make you feel knowing that this is happening today?   It would be very hard not to have harsh feelings for ALL muslims but as someone else had said they are not all the "Bin Laden" followers.   I just really feel sorry for those families right now!   My heart and prayers go out to them!
