Embarrassing Moment at Store Today
« on: January 20, 2008, 07:29:45 pm »
Ok every one just wanted to tell you to watch you’re Credit Cards.  I had an embarrassing moment at the store today when my credit card was declined.  When I got home and looked online I found my credit card was locked.  As it turns out is was just a safety thing because they thought my card had been stolen.  However I told them in the future before locking my credit card to call me so that they can verify if I was the one who made the charges or not.  Just wanted to give you all a heads up incase this happens to you.  Just keep your eyes open and watch what you do.

I was just buying beer after all the big game was on tonight Go Pats.  But it was at a place I always go to and I always use my card.  In one cence I am glad that my card was blocked till I got home and called them but on the other hand I wish that they would have just called me before they did that so I could have told them all the activity on the card is me.

Seems like they would have at least sent you an email...i use a couple of banks that use email alerts to notify you that are set to your specifications...and it keeps me informed of how much is in my account, what i spent that day etc...cuz after fooling with a few trial offers i now know that i just cant use my credit cards on a trial follow their TOS and forget about it..found out the hard way thinking like that will get ya head bumped...now i have to wait to see if the thieves will dip into my account again and cause an overdraft, so having an alert sent is a great detererrent to overdrafts

p.s its a good idea to carry more then one card also at least a prepaid one..i keep my Obopay card in the very back of my wallet for emergencies..

LOL Well as I said there was really nothing wrong they wer just conserned because I was using my card on all these offers. So they thought it was stolen or some thing.  It just was embarrassing when I was at the store I go to all the time and use the card at all the time.  I had him swipe it 3 times and each time it was declined.  As I said I just wish they would have called me befor locking my card.  Well now they know if they suspect any thinglike that in the future to call me fist befor locking my card. Hell after all I have a Cell phoneand I can be reached 24/7
