Yesterday, I attended and participated in "our" annual renewal ceremonies, just as many many generations of my people have.

Each year at this time we attempt to turn loose of all the negative energy from the past 13 moons, although not always entirely successful, it is a time of great hope for the betterment of our lives, the lives of our relations as well as the lives of our future generations.

However, this has not always been a joyous and hopeful time of year for "The People"........


"On This Day: In 1838 a Report Was Issued On The US Governments Removal of the Cherokee People: 3,000 had been removed, 1,500 were in transit, 3,000 were in forts waiting to be moved, 6,750 were in concentration camps, and 200 were still on their traditional lands. Over the course of the removal, over 4,000 Cherokee people would lose their life."
