Columbia House offer
« on: April 20, 2010, 11:09:43 am »
For anyone who has completed the CH offer, I was wondering what the terms were?  You get to pick out 3 for free, but I was wondering how many you have to buy later?  Some CH offers have free shipping, but I see that this one does not.  Thanks for any input!

I think you have to buy 4 more books during the year at the regular price and shipping is not free.  Good luck.

i actual want to sign up here and want to know the 'terms' as well.

in my last post i said my brother already signed up for this offer on another site.
do you guys know if i start a new account and buy the required amount of movies will the offer work for me? even though we both live in the same household. i know for some dvd sites only allow you to be credited once per household.

i would like to know because i'm interested in getting some movies from there, but of course get credited for it too.

Thanks, deathx88, you do have to buy three more within a year.  Unless it has changed, each household is allowed to have two memberships per address from the same club.   I have joined before and it is a good company and a good deal.  Columbia house has many different offers for enrollment some are more generous/more for your money than others.

Yes, after you get the first few movies at the promotional price, the rest of the movies you have to purchase to fulfill your membership are full price, which is usually around $20.

Yes, you have to buy a DVD or a set that is at least 19.95.  The shipping for single disks is 2.99.  You can get some cheap DVD sets on sale between 20.00 to 25.00 per set.  (many are tv seasons) I think the shipping starts at 5.99 or 6.99 for sets with four disks.  The shipping is higher for more disks per set.  It's a pretty good deal, all considering.

$20 is a lot of money for dvds. are you limited to purchasing movies made by columbia house only?

Columbia house does not make movies.  They market DVD'S.  You can find movies from major studios like Universal, Paramount, Sony etc.   Many movies are way cheaper than 19.95, but you must buy three that cost 19.95 or more.  Many new movies and tv sets are going to cost 19.95 or more anyway.
