Even though I've been a Rays fan ever since they started play, The Yankees are the team to beat in the AL east.

Even though I'm not a big fan of the Yanks' projected outfield (Granderson, Gardner, and Swisher), their infield is without equals, as long as they all stay healthy.  Add that they have a strong bullpen (especially if they wisen up and just put Chamberlain as a set-up to Rivera full time) and solid 4 starters (Sabathia, Burnett, Vazquez, and Pettitte) and you will have a tough team to beat.

I don't think the Red Sox have as good a team as many are projecting.  I can definitely see the Rays finishing ahead of them in second.  Baltimore is greatly improved, but probably not enough to finish better than fourth this year.  Toronto looks really bad.  I'll be shocked if they don't lose 100+ games.

  I always stand by the Cleveland Indians in the American League, and the Cincinnati Reds in the Nationals. I`ve lived all over the country and settled down in California for now, but both those teams never seem to pull it off anymore!! But I still root for them, (Later)
