If you were told you have 50% chance of being crippled after neck surgery,Would you have it done?

it depends on a whole variety of factors for me...what would 50% crippled mean?  would it be worse than what I'm living with now?  would it solve other problems even though it might introduce new ones?  I use an exhaustive pro/con list when making those kinds of decisions.  I might...

Depends on the reason for the surgery. I had to have a tumor the size of a golf ball removed from my neck. It had to be done. I wouldn't have had the surgery if it wasn't necessary.

my faince had a plate put in his kneck to keep the disks together and hes still here. i dont know if i would it would all depend on what would happen if i chose not to have the surgery.

He constantly in pain arms go numb cant work or even do simple things like dishes,taking out trash,has being diagnosed diferently three tims:disk degenterative disease,bulge of disks ,and c5 c6 dislodged how do you know which one is right?
