I have a very similar problem going to sleep before him sometimes works but a lot of times he ends up waking me up.  I have used a fan on high for noise just so I cant hear him lol even in the winter time I would turn it on every night and face it towards the wall so it wasn't freezing cold that helped till this past week when my fan died hes been on the couch since till we get a new fan at least guess I know what I will be spending my fusion cash money on this month lol...

My husband snored when he was overweight.  He has lost almost 100 pounds and does not snore anymore.  However, some people just snore.  I think it has something to do with your tonsils and adenoids.  My son snores and he is only 10 years old.  He has an enlarged tonsil that causes him to snore.  Right now the doctors do not want to do surgery on him, but it may be necessary in the future.

When my husband snored I would sleep in a different room and could still hear him.

Make sure he gets an adequate amount of rest because some people snore when they are tired and fatigued. Also, if the problem persists, try seeing a specialist about it as it can sometimes be caused by their body.

Some people do snore when they are really tired, but it could be a medical reason if they snore all the time.

my husband snores as well, but not quite enough to keep me from sleeping. but we have established a few ways to keep the snoring to a minimum. make sure his head and neck are slightly, and comfortably elevated by his pillow. if that means  he needs 2 pillows, then get him a second one. believe me, its worth it. also, make sure he drinks enough water throughout the day, and a nice big glass soon before bed. sometimes snoring is  worse if the person is dehydrated, as is the case with my husband. and, as some one mentioned before, make sure he gets enough sleep. if all else fails, try a sound machine or soft soothing music. put the radio or machine on your side of the bed so that its more likely to drown out his snoring. good luck!

Blast loud music to go deaf...                            JK!

My brother wraps himself up in a cacoon of sheets, I don't know how he does it, but after he does so, he puts one pillow underneath his head, and one on top. I yell at him to wake up and nothing happens, I smack him really hard, he gets up and punches me, but it works :D I just wouldn't do it if you have to work or anything, might drown out all the sound, depending on the loudness. He has a thin, regular sheet, a 2 cm blanket, and a regular 1 inch blanket and wraps it all up. (Even in the summer). I call him crazy, but what the heck, if it works for him.

Wrap Your WHOLE body, including your head, but leave a little slot for oxygen to come in, and carbon dyoxide to go out.

 8) Talk to his nurse or doctor...he needs help! Snoring is a symptom of some type of breathing disorder...maybe apnea or other. Snoring is treatable...there are some medications for snoring and other sleeping disorders.

Does he have any medical condition such as sleep apnea? My husband has apnea and snores like a bear. He has a C-PAP machine for his apnea, but he won't wear it. I don't have any advice because unfortunately nothing has worked for him (yet). I usually try to fall asleep first or I just sleep in a different room!
I have used a C-PAP for 10 years and it saved my life. You might want to have him check a few websites http://www.google.com/search?q=sleep+apnea+deaths&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
