Tax question

I take care of my mom who is 62 yrs old and just want to know can I claim the care as a credit on my taxes ??? :confused1:

Go to the IRS website.  Unless someone here is a tax accountant you probably won't get the correct answer here.

no professional but in my opinion if she lives with you or you take care of her financially then you should be able to! But it all depends on how the I.R.S. sees it contact them to be sure!(plus different states have different rules to go by)

I'm pretty sure that anyone that depends on you to live, financially speaking, can be claimed as a dependent. But to be sure, ask an actual accountant or some other tax specialist.

You can claim you mother if she has lived with you all year and you provide over half of her support.

Though I'm pretty sure it's cool to do so, I still agree with the first poster in that you should consult a professional as opposed to putting your trust in a buncha faceless randoms from the internet.
