Buying in Bulk

Do you buy items in bulk?  Household goods or foods?
I have a BJ's membership and I enjoy it tremendously - but don't always use it enough.  It was great when I had to buy diapers, wipes and baby formula all the time, but things with that have slowed down.

I am a comparison shopper though -- Gotta make sure you are REALLY getting the best deal sometimes things "appear" to be a good deal but really they may not be

Anyone else have thoughts on this.

I never buy food in bulk.

Only things I buy in bulk (if it is actually cheaper to do so) is paper goods (paper towels, toilet paper)

The only time I buy in bulk is if I'm going to get a really good deal on it. I never buy food in bulk because some always ends up going to waste.

I never buy food in bulk since I cook/eat for one person. I do buy all of my paper items in bulk. Not so much to save a ton of money it's really just to make less trips to the store. I have this fear of running out of TP in the middle of the night or something.

We buy a lot of stuff in bulk.  Household products like paper towels and toilet paper, laundry detergent and dish soap, and a lot of canned goods because they hold up for so long.  I don't usually buy fresh produce unless I'm planning to split it with someone else, but I'll stock up on meats and freeze part of the packages if Sam's Club has it cheaper than any other store in the area.  They even sell take-and-bake pizzas there, so we end up getting a lot of those.  Can't beat $5 for a 16" cheese or pepperoni pie, and they can be frozen for later, too!

Yes, we buy in what amounts to bulk, although to be fair it's a big family. No membership to anything though, 'cause there's nothing but a Walmart and some grocery stores around here.
But, how much we buy is why we have a pantry, two refrigerators, and two chest freezers, as well as overflowing dressers, closets, and chests, and really so much junk and clutter that we're contemplating a move to a bigger house.

very true especially when you have a small family. when it comes to food you have to be "ify" on what to buy from bulk-selling stores. DONT WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY

the bulk is nice if it will last long or if there are lots of people going to be around to eat it.

I only buy certain things in bulk such as, tissue, napkins, household cleaners etc.

I buy almost everything in bulk, as long as I am able to use it before it expires.  When you can get name brand groceries for 75% or more off, I buy as many as I can with the coupons that I have.  You just need to rotate your stock.  As an example, I only buy name brand cereals or boxes of crackers, that are no more than 50 cents per box after coupons, sales/store promotions.  I have tons of boxes to use, but we will finish these in time before they become stale.

Household goods are also bought in bulk.  Same thing with these.  I only buy name brand shampoos, toothpaste, deodorant, toothbrushes, soap body wash, razors, mouthwash, cleaning products, laundry items, etc. if it is free or next to free after coupons.  We never have to worry about running out.  Extras are kept in the basement. We have enough for years.  It does not take much time to match coupons with sales, but I wonder why people pay full price, unless you have plenty of money to burn.

I do not belong to a warehouse club, because they are too expensive overall for these kinds of products.

I sometimes buy in bulk it depends on what i need, if its for a party and ya need like certain things ill go to sams club to get the bulk items, but most of the time i dont buy
