I nap as soon as I eat because I feel sleepy then. Anyone else do this?
-
I know that can happen, especially at my age...75
However, I want to be healthy, and energetic. I have two kids, four grand-kids, and two great-grand-kids.
I eat healthy, and watch to not over eat (makes you sleepy), and make myself do things when I can.
I eat a lot of vitamin rich foods, and take vitamins....lots of projects.
At times, like when a sinus infection, like now.....I have to make myself mobilize, sometimes I cannot....but try very hard not to give in to that. That makes me feel older, and I am already old enough :)
We each have to choose what is best for us.

Whenever I eat a big meal I feel like a need a nap for sure.
-
Big meals make me tired too.
-
sometimes that happens, but I try not to, sometimes its just hard to fight it
-
I force myself to sit up or walk after eating a meal. I heard it's good for the body and helps to keep some of the fat away.
-
It is normal after a big meal but not healthy. Also thyroid gives you this sleeping feeling.
-
Yes, me too. Always sleeping after eating and wake up and eat again.lol
-
After I eat I have to force myself to sit up. If I don't I will fall asleep
-
No, I don't sleep after I eat. Our body is most comfortable digesting food in an upright position allowing it to absorb food easily. Sleeping after eating can muddle with the digestion process which can lead to a mass of digestive diseases.

The biggest meal is always dinner so after clean is complete we always take the dogs for a walk. Helps us and them too!
-
One of my reasons why I don't wash dishes right after dinner at times. Time out to digest relax
-
I tried to wait at least 2 hours after eating supper before I go to bed and go to sleep if I don't I usually wake up in the middle of the night with a stomach ache
-
I usually don't nap after eating but it does make me sleepy sometimes.
-
They say not to eat for 3 hours before bedtime, to give the body time to digest. I still usually end up having a snack!
-
I sometimes would like to take a nap after I eat . However, when I feel like that I try and exercise or work through it. The more naps I take during the day the less likely I am to sleep at night :pumpkin: :rose: :peace:

I do not sleep right after I eat. If you suffer from heartburn at all, you don't want to do this. Also. I have gotten into the habit of not eating within 4 hours of my general bedtime. I just feel better when my stomach is not full when i'm going to sleep. If I feel like a little nap (which is not usual), I sleep in a recliner only partially reclined.

So how about if you snooze in a recliner after eating?
-
Fighting the urge to nap. Just finished eating after working out at the ymca for 1 1/2 hours.
-
that's an overindulge in tryptophan, don't go to sleep, go workout instead.
-
Try to sleep less often after eating.

No because in the mornings I have to go to work. At lunch time, I have to go back to work. In the evenings I have things to do before bed so I can get up and go to work the next morning.
-
Your suppose to let food digest for at least an hour before sleeping.
-
I tend to go to sleep after I eat, but not all the time, I have to stay up for at least 2 hrs after eating.
-
I get so drowsy after lunch, but if I lay down to take a nap I can't sleep.
-
Eating large meals will you sleepy. Not good. Getting a move on works better for the body.
-
Sometems, but latley have dreams because of eatng before sleepng. you wake up and they become unmprtant
-
Shouldn't eat late at night and laying down, it'll be hard to burn calories and it can lead to acid reflux or heartburn. That is VERY uncomfortable. :'(
-
I always try to wait a least a half hour after I lay down after I eat other wise I don't feel good. They do make my tired too.
-
Try and stay up for at least 2 - 3 hours after eating!
-
Ok Kathleen. I will try
-
I take naps sometimes but rarely soon after eating
-
once i am up in the morning i am up for the day...no naps at any time..hubs sometimes naps after eating or while watching tv
-
They say:
Do not go to sleep or shower after eating.
Wait at least three hours.
-
I would if I am tired.... usually eating a lot will make me tired. But sometimes I cant sleep b/c i am too full.
-
I try to stay awake after eating because you are supposed to let your food digest before going to sleep. It is best to go for a walk.
