Title: Husband Driving Me Nurs
Post by: mamatygress on May 22, 2018, 06:20:25 pm
My husband tore his rotator cuff in a car accident.  He had surgery in March, and has been home since.  He's driving me crazy.  He sits around and complains, and he is always here. We have a small house, and I haven't had any time to myself.  I can't wait until he goes back to work.  Another 3 1/2 mo to go.  Ugh,

Hello! :D :)

Wow, I can only imagine we all need our space. If he is home all the time why not go out to take a little breather then return home? Additionally, why not have a talk and set boundaries? For instance, tell him you are gonna take some alone time in the kitchen for 30 to 45 minutes for him to stay away. I hope the rest of the three months fly by! :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

So why don't you leave? Go to town.

He's probably frustrated that he can't work. I hope he gets well soon. You should be able to communicate this stuff to each other.

Oh how well I know  how it feels. Hubby  is out for the summer from being a sub at school. that alone is bad enough. But he has gout and is always  in one way or another making it know his feet hurt. But he is always  wanting to drive me to town for any thing I need like I can't do it by myself. But getting him todo anything around the house is like pulling teeth out of an elephant. I am trying to carry the whole load here, the yard, house and everything.  Just  never seems like I can get it all done. I have kept at him to go to a specialist and he would not make an appointment.  Guess what I  did and now are awaiting the verdict as to what is really going on. Now he is wanting to go fishing and I am standing my ground . He is not going until this is straightened out. If he does not feel up to doing anything then he is not up to going fishing.

Husbands make the worst patients!  Even just a little cold can turn my husband into the biggest baby ever.  He gets super grumpy and the more I try to coddle him the worse he gets.  Thankfully last time he was sick he stayed in our bedroom and I stayed in one of the spare rooms so I wouldn't catch whatever he had.  I was grateful to be in a different rooms those times lol

Men are kind of like babies when it comes to being sick or injured. Just treat him like a baby for a while. He'll appreciate it and you'll be the bigger person. Saying "Poor baby" is a good one to say to him at times.  :angel11:

I hope he's doing some exercises to keep that arm limber. That would at least keep him a little bit busy.

Keep in mind that it's better to have him home complaining than to not have him at all. Sometimes that gives you better perspective.

I totally get it!  Good for you for sticking to your guns!
