This is a hard question for me because I love apples. I like the sweeter pie. If it is sour it puckers me too much lol. Happy Apple Pie Day, Have a gr8 day.

I could live without Apple pie. If I want to experience something sweet.....
It must be "chocolate something".

i dont eat apple pie

Apple pie isn't my favorite dessert, but I wouldn't turn it down if it was offered to me. My favorite is any pie with a bit of tartness...If it's a fruit pie, it can't be just sweet, it must be sweet AND tart, or I won't eat it and the apples can't be too soft. They must be firm.

Since I didn't know it was Apple Pie Day (but  chocolate), went searching on the internet. Haven't tried the recipe myself, but how about this one from a blog post for today's 'holiday'? (Credit: Dying for Chocolate) --
CHOCOLATE APPLE PIE
Ingredients
Pastry for a double-crust 9-inch pie, unbaked
8-10 tart apples (peeled, cored and sliced thinly--number of apples depends on their size)--Gravensteins aren't available this time of year, but they're my favorite, especially for pies!
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 cup 65-75% dark chocolate fair-trade organic, chopped into smallish pieces
Directions
Apples: peel, core, and slice thinly.
Combine cinnamon & sugar = cinnamon sugar. (you may need a tiny bit more). I've also used the chocolate cinnamon sugar from Trader Joe's
Place 1 layer apple slices on bottom crust. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar. Repeat twice.
Spread chopped chocolate pieces over top.
Using remaining apples, make 3 more apple/cinnamon sugar layers.
Top with 2nd crust and seal edges. Make cut on the top--or pierce with a fork in a few places.
Bake in preheated 450 F oven for 15 minutes (until golden).
Lower heat to 350F and continue baking for another 25-30 minutes, or until apples are tender.

For just a slice of apple pie, it would have to be Dutch Apple Pie. But I do like a warm apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

I love Dutch Apple Pie. I have to say that is the best pie of all time. :)

I prefer individual apples baked in crust. My mom makes them with a cinnamon center, it's divine.

i like apple pie but i like the crust best...not wild about cooked apples.

I prefer a traditional lattice topped apple pie. I like making them with 1/2 golden delicious (my favorite apple) and 1/2 honeycrisp or braeburn. A little sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla.. Shoot a pillsbury crust will suffice for me. I prefer a dollap of cool whip. Or the freeze flow frosting atop.

My favorite apple pie is the kind with the crumb topping.
-
I like the ones at McDonalds. They are so good. Just make sure that you double check they are not moldy. It happened to me back when I used to live in Hawaii.
