Like you said, she (and you) will be ok. Just remember she's on to a new chapter in her life. She will be fine, I know she's far away, but communication is so much easier now then when we were her age. There was no internet, cell phones, and long distance calling was expensive. Think of all the great news she can tell you about her experiences in school. Before you know she will be home for the holidays. I'm sure she and you will be calling and texting a lot. I wish her all the good luck in the world!

Did that 5 years ago and a week later she was fine but of course mom wasn't. She will be fine and probably adjust better than you will. I cried the entire 4 years everything we left each other. She is now moved out again working on her master's degree and I still miss her but get to see her more often she is local now.

I am sure very rough on both of you. My two sons were a great support to me when their dad died and moved in to help me - now the youngest has moved out with his girlfriend and I miss him like crazy. And, I know deep down he worries about me. It gets easier every day though and I am sure it will for you guys as well.

Don't be sad or think of it as a sad moment. You gotta remember that there are lots of young kids who would love the opportunity to go to college. Don't let her know that you miss her because you don't want her to feel guilty about leaving.

That is such a sad time ~ sending the babies off to college. I remember it vividly with my daughter!!
