 Where's the Turkey? No we should always be thankful for what we have there are those that have less then we do and we should invite someone over that has less or donate a meal to your local shelter for the Holidays its about giving sharing and blessing those around else :angel11:

Since it is just the 2 of us. We will be going to the church and helping with the community dinner for the less fortunate. I am going to make 2 giant tossed salads and a cake to take. Last year over 175 were served. We will be helping serve and other jobs there. Then afterwards will go out to see my brother and see his family for a short time. I know my sister-in-law will be a little put out. But there are times I would rather be doing something useful besides sitting and listening to the gripping going on. When I lived in the city and could not get home for thanksgiving because of my job I would go and help at one of the places serving dinners. I have always enjoyed it.

I'm more excited than I've ever been for this Thanksgiving! I'm am going up north to spend 11 days with my boyfriend, my love! It's the longest we've ever spent together and basically a trial run of how it will be when we live together. I'm so excited, I can't wait! Plus, I do love me some turkey! :turkey:

We should have a really fun Thanksgiving this year. My nephew, who lives in California, is on the east coast this year for work. He wasn't able to get a decent flight home for Thanksgiving, so he is going to celebrate with us for the first time in his whole life. Also, both my daughters and their husbands will be there too. One of my daughters is just getting back from a trip to the Galapagos Islands, so she should have lots of awesome photos to share.

I was thinking about turkey TV dinners for all of us this year. I got 2 frozen blueberry and cherry pie with the topping. Everyone can add to this if they want to. :turkey: :highfive:

Hi,
We are having Thanksgiving together as a family. I want to help at a soup kitchen too. It is important to give to those in need.

I wonder if a tom turkey would cost more than a hen turkey would.

This is true! I invited a cousin (from Illinois), his girlfriend and their daughter to join us for Thanksgiving and they were tickled. It has brought so much excitement into our lives and I feel so genuinely good for having extended the offer. I think that Christmas has become too materialistic as well. I have been making a candle for everyone that we shall be sharing the Holiday with. In addition, after reading a book that my son had to read for theology, have decided to buy an item (like a hat or t shirt) from this charitable organization and make a five dollar donation for each one of them. My day time job usually has a white elephant gift party and I will employ the same charitable gift idea for this occasion. I feel that this will be a true gift from the heart.
