When i do dishes when guests, neighbors, or family comes by i always get asked why i do it the way i do.. I don't understand this because i figured there is no right or wrong way to do dishes..So.. I am wondering.. Is there some kind of secret method to dishes i don't know about that everyone does?
All i do when i do dishes is I rinse with hot water..
Make my water up put soap in it..
Then let the dishes soak or wash them up
Rinse again
Put on drying board to dry..
My friend tells me she just puts hers in the sink and lets them soak then rises them dryes them and puts em away.. I don't see nothing wrong with her way.. I think everyone has a right to wash dishes how they please..
My neighbor tells me she just puts hers in the washer and is done with them.. Don't see nothing wrong with her way either..
But i still perfer my method :D

I like your method better who really wants to wash dishes in dirty water (only soak if it calls for it if you ask me like something heavy that is hard to get out) To me it's kinda waste because if you let them soak them wash u leave the chance and opening of not getting everything off the dishes the first time

There is nothing wrong with your way of doing dishes(your right there is no wrong way to do dishes)

I hate to wash other peoples dishes
-
I just put them in the dishwasher and wash them all at once after dinner and it saves water/detergent.
-
I think your way of washing dishes is just fine... I never thought people would actually comment on each other's techniques haha. As long as your dishes aren't dirty when they're done, do whatever you're doing!
-
Usually how dishes are done is a preference not that you are doing it wrong. I prefer to dry mine though they look so pretty and spot free.
-
My method is similar, I let them soak in soap and hot water, wash them then put them in a dish rack to dry.
-
I say wash your dishes however you want - I read online once that you wash in hot water and rinse in cold but that is the only thing I do different - also since I am alone now I don't wash anything I can use a paper version of lol.
-
I don't see anything wrong with your method. I wash mine pretty much the same way. As long as they're clean, they shouldn't worry about how you clean them.
-
As long as the dishes get cleaned I can't see any problems with a particular method that accomplishes the task.
-
I don't have any secret. As long it's clean to me. But I use to do my way, so when other do the way I don't like, I rather do it myself. :)
-
I guess I never really thought about this one. The way I do them depends on how many I have, how much time I have and how dirty they are. If there are just a couple of plates from lunch, they usually go in the sink till dinner dishes are ready to be their friends. I usually load up the dishwasher and do what ever won't fit in there after dinner at night. If I am home, I do the breakfast dishes right away. Fill the sink with hot soapy water, wash dishes, rinse and dry in the drainer.
-
Really? We're talking about how to do dishes. Really??? Just get them clean. It doesn't really matter how, does it? ::)
Well, at least it's a stimulating and thought-provoking question. ;) :peace:

We do what we have to do, washing dishes with hot hot water.
-
I just soak them, wash them, rinse them and let them air dry
-
Since I don't have a dishwasher, I wash dishes in the sink. I soak them in very hot water and detergent. When the water is cool enough, I wash them and rinse in the second sink. What does the job seems okay by me.
-
you are wright any way you do them is the wright way for you. that is all that maters that they get done!

I hate washing dishes but i have to do them. I wash pots more then plates. I put my pots on a drying board.

I do all my dishes because there is no place in my kitchen to install a dishwasher. because i have dual sinks i fill the sink with as hot as water as i can stand with soap. i then do the baby bottles and utensils first followed by the plates and bowls and cups and then finally the pots and pans. in the other sink i have as hot as water as i can stand in which i rinse the soap off and then i place them on a drying board to dry.
-
I wipe off the big stuff and put in the dishwasher. I feel like the extra hot water in the dishwasher sanitizes them. I start the dishwasher anytime it gets full. So sometimes it gets done every other day if not everyday.
-
I agree that there is no one right way to do dishes I put them in the soapy water and wash each dish and then rinse and let then dry on the board
-
I have been doing dishes since I lost my job and my girlfriend got a job. I ate doing house work and dishes I mean it seems they are never ending and they add up quickly.
-
Whatever gets them clean is the right way. We have a dishwasher but still have to pre-rinse some things if they are really dirty, like baked on food.
-
I think your method is better because you rinse off the dirty stuff first.
i hand wash all the dishes (i don't soak them prior to washing them though), but occasionally I use the dishwasher when there's a lot of dishes.
-
I prefer your method too. What I like to do is rinse the dishes right away with hot water (anything to make life easier, right?) then fill the sink with very hot water and detergent, let them soak until the water has just cooled enough to get my hands in there and get the job done.
-
As long as they are clean that is what matters.
-
I don't have a dishwasher so I wash dishes by hand too. I wash, rinse, and put everything on a drying board.
-
I do what you do; I rinse them, soak them, wash them, rinse them again, and let them dry.
-
Im with you. I didnt know there was a right and wrong way!
-
uhggg i hate doing dishes,,, :(
-
Doesn't matter how you do the dishes...as long as it gets it clean. But I wash by hand or use the dishwasher depending on how much needs to get cleaned.
-
I didn't realize that you had to defend your method of doing dishes. Who cares what people think about it?
-
I wash dishes by using a scrub brush in warm water and soap. Just letting the dishes sit in the soapy water is not getting rid of all the foods that may still be on the dishes.
-
Africans don't believe in using dish washers so we wash by hand in my household.
-
I just always make sure I'm wearing gloves when I do dishes, no matter what the method.
-
No right or wrong way, when I have guest I generally use paper goods! or load the dishwasher, I say what ever works for you, stick to that way. One thing, I never leave my kitchen a mess, cannot stand to see dirty dishes, pot, pans etc.
-
there is no wrong way...as long as they get clean i would think
-
I usually just use a sponge with liquid dish soap, but occasionally use the dishwasher.
