how many people buy DVD's befor they even see the movies

I also buy movies I like a lot, otherwise I just rent from Netflix and watch.

I have been disappointed too often, so we try to watch the movie 1st.  Only when it is a favorite show or movie series (like X-Men or Simpsons) do we just buy the movie.  We also buy Blu-Ray so we dont want to waste the extra money on a bad movie.

We use too. I still have about 20 DVD's still brand new never been opened that I have yet to wanna watch.
Now I just buy what we know we will like, have seen in the movies or need to complete the set. Got around 500 DVD's and Blu-rays even after selling a bunch of them.

I used to, but too many turned out to not be what we thought they'd be like!  So now we get them at Blockbuster super cheap or burn them at home.

I own very few movies to begin with, so I would not buy on without having seen it first. Even so, it must have made a pretty big impression for me to consider purchasing it.

We have a shelf full of movies, because during the odd times of the year when my kids can go out and play we turn off the cable and we watch movies if we feel the need to be entertained. I generally buy them from blockbuster but also when it's a movie such as disney/pixar or even dreamworks I generally just buy those.
